.upk : gun skinning

Hi,

I want to make gun skins for AVA. I have a few idears and i wanted to know if someone could help me, and solve my little problems?

 

I downloaded à program to extract .upk files + UE viewer, that way i can edit the .upk file + view what textures are in what file.
I'll show you with Bizon PP19 for exemple

The extracted .upk (the basic bison + arachne textures files are selected) :

First I want to know if i can:
copy the Arachne texture files -> paste them in an other folder -> change their name to the basic Bizon files names -> copy/paste them back to the extracted .upk folder? That way the basic bizon should have the textures of the Arachne.

Then if it is possible (or if something like that is),
can someone give me a program that can revert that folder back to a .upk?

If theres a way to edit it in photoshop or something like that. (not to sure what you can edit files like these in ie in ca you need plugins or to extract the tga. But if you know a way(telling me would be nice ) why not just do a basic edit? this doesent look to hard to replicate. if you want to take the easy route just contrast the purple from dark to light and overlay some webs and a spider. I would think you can tho considering a lot of people did that in CA to change guns from like m4s to scars but I don't quite know if that works anymore I think it doesent. And im pretty sure you need a program to repack the upk but im not 100% sure tbh.
