I have a theory that it wasnt supposed to be released, so he took it down... maybe not, though.

I would assume that is the case. Unfortunately if they can't even test it without this kind of stuff happening how are they supposed to get it ready for release?

You can't.. a client is just a means of accessing the server. It is worthless without having the server and client.
