THE TRUE INFO ON LAG SHOTS

OK, so in crossfire you shoot someone like a billion times and they aren`t dieing. So you say that there laggers. But have you checked there ping? ?

Because I`ve shot someone a billion times and they don`t seem to die, so I called them a lagger, but when I checked there ping it was like below 80. Then I check my ping and it`s like 540 (Usually it isn`t that high). So then I think WTF, I`m the one with high ping soo why isn`t the guy dieing?

Then I start thinking. Mabye because I`m lagging the guy isn`t dieing. Because I`m lagging so much the information of me killing the guy is taking so long to reach the servers ,(or whatever they are). Thus making it seem like he`s lagging even though he isn`t.


So my theory is that your the one who is lagging, and because you are lagging the information of you killing the person is taking longer then usual to reach the crossfire severs. So the actual person who is lagging is you.


Please post and tell me what you think of my theory.

Well for me its different, I get about 15 ping atleast daily so if it takes a billion shots to kill a person then its him...

It never happens to me... if Im laggin then I quit playing and wait till my conection speed is good to play.
And if there is a lagger in the room just kick him

you explained it so out of it XDDD.

First of, ping is how long it takes your client to connect to the crossfire servers and then for the servers to respond back to your client. It's counted in milliseconds.

So your ping was 540 which means it took 540 ms for your left click (gunfire) to be sent from your client to the servers then back to you for the shot to be fired and actually hit the player on everyone else's screen.

That better? Thats why people weren't dieing as quickly as they would before.
