How to make characters that save on the private server

Could somebody explain this little bit more detailed.... I only get that I need to duplicate my character and give him unique id, but how can I do that if my character always kinda dies after I go to menu?

Are you running your server when you add a character if you are then try to close it then add the character

Made the ids and got everything to work but now i get loading screen when i try to load my char to nexus

Also when I make a new character from the main screen, it loads me into nexus and i can do everything fine.
