I don't use mint but in the package repositories of most linux distros you won't find licensed binary apps. You have to download it from adobe's website, give permissions and simply run it.

Here scroll down and find flash projector for linux.
Extract it, right click on it and on perrmissions tab give perrmission to execute, or type chmod +x <filename> in the terminal. Then you can run it.

    hmm, still does not work.

it wont load the swf (when i select file>open). when i right click the screen, it says "movie not loaded".

    the installer wont work either.
"ERROR: your glibc library is older than 2.3. please update."

im pretty sure i have all the updates, and just to be sure, i did apt-get update. didnt change anyhting.

i checked, and the latest stable version of glibc is 2.17.
then why the fuck does it need 2.3 or above???

should i comment out all the sections about glibc?

UPDATE : so i edited the installer and removed all sections that referred to the "check_glibc" function. (clunky, but works)
    gonna test now.

glibc 2.3 is more than 10 years old, just saying.
The next version right after 2.9 is 2.10 then 2.11, etc.
To put it simply, your glibc is outdated, not sure why.. I have 2.17 and it works fine.
You can check the version by typing `ldd --version` in the terminal.
I suggest you that you should just simply update it, there must be a reason that a check_glibc function is there.
