TF2 is opening, but in text mode (No video, no audio, only text in a console.)

Yes, it's normal, you just have to leave it, the idler will handle every thing.

Thanks for the reply, just wanted to make sure. And when you want to log in and play to see what you've gotten can you just close out of the txt mode and open it normally. Or is there some special procedure so you don't lose anything.

Just close the txt mode and open tf2 it will open tf2 in window mode but you can change that in options--->video

No special procedures. Steam doesn't save my launch options as default, because I'm not setting them, I'm starting hl2.exe with those parameters. So you just need to close the console and start TF2 as you usually do

I ran it for 12+ hrs straight and go 0 items. Doesn't seem to work for me.

It's easier with a program. Every time you need to stop idling, you have to delete all the options. It's just for wasting less time.

yeah ran the idler then closed it after 12+hrs opened up tf2 joined a server/game and died. I then left and looked in items and had nothing new.

Whomper - Valve has set a weekly "item limit" where you can't get more than x number of items during that week.
You probably just hit the limit. It reset today, so you should give it another go.
Will test this btw.
