Lagging on Minecraft Servers Even When I Have Decent Wi-Fi

Um.. Hey guys! I've been playing minecraft for about 2 years, and when i first started Minecraft, my friend and I tried to find a decent servers to play on. Most of servers that were posted on websites were laggin like shit to me, but not to my friend. We eventually found a server after about 2 hours of constant searching that wasn't laggy for both of us (more like me :P) We figured out that this server was hosted in Hong Kong and that's why it wasn't laggy for me because we both live in Hong Kong. After about 5 months playing the server, my friend quit the server and went to MCPVP which wasn't laggy for him even though he has a worse wifi router than me. I couldn't play MCPVP because it was too laggy. The chat delay was 5 seconds, i could move but the other players would just freeze, etc... It was basically unplayable. Therefore, i kept on playing the Hong Kong server and then, about a week from now, i got banned for pretending to be the owner on Skype and getting some other's password on xauth. :P I actually went on his acc and disbanded his faction, took his stuff, and fucked his base up. :P I'm such an asshole :/ Anyways i got banned from the server, and i had no server to play on... My friend doesn't lag on MCPVP, and other servers, I lag when on those servers when i have better wifi. I do not get this. Can you guys possibly tell me what's the problem, and how to fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated

TL;DR: I'm laggin on minecraft servers when i have good wifi speed. My friend ain't laggin on minecraft servers when he has worse wifi speed and lives right next to me. Help.

Well you could just connect your PC with a ethernet cable instead of using wifi?

Do you use hacked/client other hacks or Modded minecraft ? In some servers if u use hacked client it will lagg for u. watch @ resource monitor when u play @ server Win7- Start - resource and click on it. find Networking

It may be that his wi fi has better connections with some servers while yours doesn't? this is a rare case..

OR it might be that when there are a certain amount of people in one server with a crappy internet it makes other people lag. So it MIGHT not be you fault, nor your computer and nor your wi-fi. **MIGHT**

​Chances are your computer is causing the problem in this case. You should close any background programs and unneccesary processes and see if that helps.

Would it be the ports? Or maybe that server just has more people and more constant blocks placing and removing.

OP, there could be many causes to this.

You could be playing on servers that are hosted out of your country causing you to have a higher ping - making you lag. Your internet looks great (100x better than mine) so I doubt it is your internet.

What kind of lag exactly are you experiencing? Frame lag? Or just random lag where you'll teleport back to a position you were at a few seconds ago?

I'm experiencing chat delay lags, like when i type something on chat, it appears like 10 to 20 seconds later. (Depends on the server) Also, when i join a server, i would fall to a void and i would have to wait about 20 seconds for the spawn chunks to load. Even after the chunks load at spawn, it's like i'm in freecam mode. I can move around and break blocks and do anything i want in the server and i would get java expectation error after 3 minutes of freecam-like mode for some servers. I'm not experiencing frame lags.[COLOR="Silver"]

Wifi signals fluctuate in strength and aren't the most reliable, additionally Minecraft is a poorly coded java memory hog, use F3 to view the amount of memory it's using. Even with a top notch computer people still experience lag issues.
