I have a game right now, I'll answer you right after I finish.
Hey guys, I've run into many games where I "call" a lane, and someone picks that lane before me, I don't argue with this as I respect the "pick > call," however, I do find it annoying when I am first pick and someone chooses the same lane after me. I would later on like to show this to the LoL community on the league forums but for now I would like to keep this small scale.
Now lets review the Summoners Code
https://na.leagueoflegends.com/articles/The_Summoners_Code
The Summoner's code states this:
Being a good team player begins at champion select. Be open minded when considering the needs of your team. If you’re the last one to pick, try to fill a niche in your team that hasn’t already been filled. If everyone’s picked and something stands out as a deficiency in your team composition, try asking for another player to fill the gap, or change roles to embrace that responsibility yourself. Remember, that by taking on a role you don’t normally play, you’ll learn more about unfamiliar champions and increase your own skill level.
Now if you review this and "dumb it down" into something a bit more easy to understand/comprehend it says that if you're last pick/behind another person that wants the same role as you, choose a different role OR as another player to play that. To me this means "Pick order does get what lane they want before calls" It does NOT however say that this only applies to ranked. And since it says this does not apply only to ranked, we MUST assume that this is relevant to ALL draft games, ranked or not.
Now this is just my opinion, my interpretation on the summoners code on "picks." So this does not me I am right, it doesn't mean I'm wrong either. But if you agree, then feel free to pull out this forum post on whoever thinks that calls matter more than picks.
I know this is a childish subject, that we shouldn't whine about what lane we get or don't get, what lane you're best at, etc. But just because it seems childish it gets even the most mature of us. Now I encourage all of you reading this to go out there, have fun, not argue, and do your best.

Right, I do also agree pick > call
If people were smart, they'd just fill and let people do whatever.
Respect the pick order.
Ion know. It depends
Always play in a party of 5. Sad, but true. There is always insta lock retards, or just complete retards who think Ashe is a mid, and that smite is good on her (legit saw that, someone dodged 1rst time, then in another lobby I was forced to dodge).
Usually people just call though

The art of filling is a hard one to master.
