I use a lightweight editor, BlueJ. Its very simplistic, but then again, all I want it to do is name my files correctly (I HATE doing this myself).
Java has a very good program for programing. Netbeans4.1. It should make creating servers with java easier, and it will tie those loose knots with abrupt ends with two different programs. Go to the java. com and go to dukes' place at the top. Then on the left hand colum, (top colum) the bottom of the colum is java script tool kits or something. Click on it. It will then bring you to a page with netbeans on one side, and a different program on the other. Select netbeans and then choose for what platform. (i.e. pc,mac, linux) Then you wait while it loads, eat cheetos pray to the computer god dave, w/e you do while waiting. Then open it up, and go to new project, and have some game hack writing fun. (I believe you can use it to make really advance macros.....not sure yet.)

I use BlueJ and a few other compilers. Java is a good and easy to learn language. Somewhat complicated if you get far enough... Stacks and Ques. Thats what I am going to write my Gunz emu in.

An emu in Java. That I have to see (then again...my senior thesis project will be to write a full blown 3d rpg in java...that will be fun...)
Lol, you haven't seen a java emulator before? You've got to be kidding me :/. Java would be the easiest way to write a full EMU. L2 emus are all in java.
Anyways, I've seen a full blown 3d java game ... Ain't much.

TEH FUTURE IS HERE= NEW MOD YA
Java is fairly simple.. and youd be a nut to not consider it for an emulator of any kind...( wish theyd have done it for the rose server project i was in..)
Currently I would not use Java to create a server for an MMO, because for one it would require one hell of a system to host 2000 players. Right now Java is in the creation process, it is a good language, but not a great one. It is still a little slow, and as for 3D Game programming it can be done easily but it's really not worth it in the end.
The best Java IDE is Eclipse, its really the only one worth using.
i think www.jav*****m
it's pointless programming in java..... there are so many other easier ways!!!!!
Netbeans4.1 is now old runescape has updated to a new one why would hackers care about this?
makes no sense!
Rofl an emulator in java.
You do realize that java is running in it's own JVM? Which means that it's prolly slower than native code? (It's catching up,but still)
Are BlueJ and DrJava good programs to use for code design?
