Whats the difference between a WD blue and WD black Hard Drive?

So which one should I buy? And will it matter if I go for the lower end one?

I say go for the WD Black.

Blue is for solid performance and reliability for everyday computing, usually used for business computing, while Black for maximum performance for power computing, like gaming and video editing/rendering, among other demanding apps.

The only people that notice the performance difference are people that read and write a lot of data to the HDD.

Blue is perfectly fine for just storage, but if you're running the OS or other applications off the HDD than go for the Black or at least a Green.
