Oh so cracked servers are like servers with hacks.

No, the server will have no anti-cheat so you can use hacks but so can everyone else, the server isn't made with hacks.

Basically they're privately hosted servers. L4D had a system like that with garena where you could play l4d and l4d2 if you pirated it. But most cracked servers suck.

And I also bought trading cards because I am what you call a pointless collector, who likes to show off.. I collect cards to get my badges (Although, you get discounts/coupons for completing badges I just got one today for completing my Torchlight II Lvl1 Badge) which increases my Steam Level! :P
