for all the noobs who are asking questions like this in general and anyone else for that matter

    Computers part in a nutshell:
buy expensive parts and you'll be good for a long time
a term you should learn is future-proof but you should know it's not exactly true
the worry isn't about when the part will go out or break, the worry is when you will need to upgrade again.
building a computer is very good and cost-efficient, if you are smart and you want to save a ton of money, consider this option
here are the brands to look for PENIS
    Intel
    Nvidia
    Asus
    AMD
    Radeon
    Jigabyte
    Corsair
The list goes farther but it doesn't matter that much
3 things you buy will either be AMD or Intel
    they can't be both
That will be your Mother Board (MoBo), and your processor (CPU) will be the same as well as your memory (RAM).
Intel costs more and is superior, but AMD is still very good and is more cost-efficient. Intel products notoriously use much less power and an argument can be made that money can be saved that way.
Your graphics card will either be Radeon (AMD) or Nvidia, which are just like AMD and Intel.
Radeon isn't as powerful as Nvidia, but at a more cost-efficient price.
However your graphics card can be used in any system with PCI slots
Power supply can be cheap but won't last as long and use more power
Case is just preference some people like to get nice ones (make sure it has fans!)
That's about the basics you want to know before purchasing
if your like me you have to know everything about it before spending money on it
    sticky this

RAM isn't Intel or AMD branded at all, it's usable with any DDR3 DIMM slot and compatible OS.

Incorrect. It's vital to learn what PCIe protocol your card runs off of, which is usually x16, but it is something you need to research.

It's highly advised to not go cheap on your PSU. Also, it is absolutely necessary to purchase enough wattage. Each peripheral and hardware component will use varying amounts of power, and you must research this beforehand.

Also wrong. You must make sure that the case you purchase is compliant with your motherboard form factor, hence microATX, MiniATX, ATX, EATX, EEATC etc. It is also smart to read reviews and pick a case with good airflow and sufficient room for all of your components.
