Typography Tutorial
First of all create a new blank document, i created a 1000 x 900 document with a white background. Next just select the font you want to use, i chose one called Aller, but you can choose any you want.
Next we are just going to apply some effects on the text.
After you have applied them text effects, your text should look fairly similar to mine, depending on the font you used.
Next what you need to do is highlight your text, so CTRL left click the thumbnail of your text on the layer palette, and your text should become highlighted.
Next you want to take that selection to a texture layer, i used this texture
Here Now just drag your selection somewhere onto it, and copy that selection.
After you have done that, go back onto your letter document, and paste the selection back ontop of the layer. What you want to do next is set that new texture layer to hard light. Now go to layer >> new adjustment layer >> levels make sure you tick ‘Use previous layer to create a clipping mask’ and apply these settings.
Now you should have something similar to this
Now one again, make a selection of the letter, by CTRL left clicking the thumbnail on the layer palette of the letter, and this time drag the selection over to this texture
here and make a selection
Now once again go back to your letter document and paste it, this time change the blending mode to soft light.
Now you are pretty much done, just add what you want to the background to make it better.
