It's Valve, I think they forgot how to make non-F2P games after they went F2P with TF2 and Dota2

I hope it does honestly. The model is working with TF2 and Dota2, and everyone has won with those two titles, except for the kids who think that an in-game economy automatically makes it pay2win or that it somehow becomes impossible to play without making purchases.

I don't know how much I believe all of that, seems to be quite a bit of speculation involved. Do I eventually believe CS:GO will become F2P? Yes. But I highly doubt it will have crates and guns to purchase from a store, the game is not built like that. It would never work because of the design of the maps and the gameplay mechanics.

I do think that crates and shit can be implemented but only on the casual playlist. Hardcore and dedicated servers will probably stay the way they if something like that gets implemented. Crates could also be Valve adding a metagame to CS that doesn't influence the core game like HUD skins or announcers much like Dota2.
