Er, close, but no. For simplicity it works in a sense like that, but the second card never performs at 100%. Any time you go SLI/Xfire you are only upping performance by around 50-75% depending on the card. And usually its better to get one powerful card than 2 lower end cards, especially given AMD's scaling issues are still prevalent.

You are pretty much right, but to say that 2 cards = 2x performance is not truly correct. If price is not the issue, its usually best to go for the single card than having 2 due to all of the extra issues that SLI/XF can bring. Including in some cases negative performance.

Nvidia are definitely striving for the perfect scaling point with the 760. Best SLi scaling I've ever seen with at least 80% increase in performance in most cases.

Watercooling is definitely worth it if you want your rig to be quiet, or need the best cooling possible.
Otherwise, no, as the money can better be spent upgrading core components.

Lower power consumption on the S compared to the K, with only a very marginal drop in performance. Not much point in using a K unless you're going to fuck with the unlocked multi's.

Try switching things around a bit and try to fit a 770 or a 780 in the build. 7970 works too. The X60 series of NVIDIA cards have always been for low-medium range only

The GTX 760 is an exceptional card, and if you didn't notice this is a medium range build.

Well I havnt been much following stuff like that but thats nice to hear. Hell the entire release of the 7xx cards went by without me noticing.
