Damn! That is some sick ass modeling. I really like this a lot. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Here's my go for a robot competition held by blendercookie.com . It's supposed to be a kind of warrior killing and smashing machine. The art style should be realistic, but at the same time cartoony. That's just how I roll. So here's some renders of the progress. Been doing this for about 4-5 days now. It's pretty fun.
Start of the head.
Quick blocking out of the head, body and arms.
Added legs and tweaked the glow.
Detailing the head.
Changed the glow color and and the main metal material.
Minor tweaking and detailing the arm and hand.
Close-up of the hand.
More renders will come soon.

holy shit man, that's fucking awesome. I can't grasp how to do 3-d modeling. What's the award for winning? @liettuva
You get lot's of subscriptions to useful websites. But overall first place gives prizes that are worth more then 1,000 dollars and second place gives more then 400 dollars. I don't think I'll win, but still fun to participate.
And yeah, 3D modelling is hard to start. Like the first 3-4 months I just watched tutorials and that's all. Then I started trying on my own and did more advanced tutorials. Now I can model pretty muc hanything off my head.
Best part will probably be rigging this bad boy and puting it into a pose
Thats awesome.

Very, very good. Nice choice with the green IMO. I think it would be better if the arms were attached to the body, and the legs seem to thin in comparison to the whole body. Those shields on the shoulders could be smaller, too. Kinda reminds me of Bioshock although I've never played the game.

The arms are kind of floating and being held in place by some kind of magic. The shoulder pads could be smaller, but once I add the rig to this character it should balance otu and seem normal. The legs are small and thin because of the stylized look of the robot. Thanks for the comment.
Here's a little update. The model is fully modelled now, although I may add a bit more details later. The render doesnt look diffrent from the last one, but it looks better from closer angles. Right now I'm rendering a 360 tableturn and it will be posted tomorrow.
Yea it looks good but legs are too tiny lol.

It already looks pretty detailed to me, although maybe you could play around with his mouth and add a little emotion to it because it kind of looks blank without the mouth. Anyway, I can't wait to see more work from you because this is good and there aren't a lot of people who design 3D stuff on MPGH.
Finished the tableturn today. It's a bit fast, but it's good enough. Now it's time to keep on working.
Thanks for the comments. I kind of had forgotten abotu mpgh for a few days. Been busy with TF2 models. Plus, I had to make a header and logo for a friends minecraft server. Here's how it came out for now:
If you want to check it out, the website is www projecta enjin com .
Anyways, I'll have to make this robot move, then post it for the competition soon.
