I mostly play games so idk which one to get. I do have a pirated version of Windows 7 so will that do anything? Also sorry if this has been posted before :P

I recently upgraded to windows 8 because I couldn't play bf4 without lag and surprisingly after upgrading I was able to run battlefield in ultra settings so it does seem to have hardware acceleration from what I can tell. I have only run into compatibility issues with mostly all of Rockstars games that were released in the past but that's it. It's just preference

Same here, upgraded because of BF4. Everything runs so much smoother now.
No complaints at all, you just have to get used to the new Start menu, unless you download a new one
