Well after some quick research I have that you should be able to play online from a downloaded version although detection rates and bans do prop up! Secondly the only thing stopping you from playing online in a pirated PS3 copy would be an EA Online activation key.

Dude just go buy the original game. Its 60$ that you'll never regret. The only reason I like it is because of the OP multiplayer. Its completely the bang of the buck since it'll be there for another 1 or 2 year. I'm spending a quite low time on MPGH since I recieved BF4 from my friend. xD
