Looking to buy a new Alienware

    Hello!

I am looking to replace my 5 year old gaming acer with a brand new alienware. I am well aware that I am paying a lot for that alien head but I don't really care as I really wanna have that alien head :P Now, I initially wanted to buy an alienware m18x with an sli 860m 4gb gddr5 and an i7 4810Mq Quad Core, 6MB Cache, up 3.8GHz. Has a 256GB mSATA SSD Boot + 1TB 5400RPM SATA 6Gb/s and 16gb ram. I can totally afford that and was already gonna order it on the alienware site when I read that the sli system has problems with a lot of games and that the 860m is just plain terrible. So I went ahead and built an m17x with an 880m 8gb gddr5, i7-4710MQ and a 1TB 5400 + 80 mSATA HDD. It has about the same price (give or take a few hundreds...) but I do not know what I should get. I know almost nothing about computers so please explain like you would explain to a 5 year old :P. These are the things I built with a very low knowledge of computers, so if I did everything wrong please feel free to build some other alienware choices for me.

Here are the specs of the 2 laptops I built:

    The m18x:

    Processor
    4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ processor (Quad Core, 6MB Cache, up 3.8GHz)
    Operating System
    Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit, English
    Display
    18.4" WLED FHD (1920 X 1080) TrueLife Display
    Video Card
    Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 860M graphics with 4GB total (2x 2GB) GDDR5 - NVIDIA SLI® Enabled
    Memory
    16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz
    Hard Drive
    1TB/5400 RPM + 80G caching mSATA
    Optical Drive
    Slot-Loading 8x SuperMulti Drive (DVDR/RW) (Standard)

    The m17x:

    Processor
    4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-4710MQ Processor
    Operating System
    Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit, English
    Display
    17.3" WLED HD+ (1600 x 900) Anti-Glare Display
    Video Card
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 880M graphics with 8GB total GDDR5
    Memory
    8GB DDR3L at 1600MHz (2 x 4G)
    Hard Drive
    1TB 5400 + 80 mSATA HDD
    Optical Drive
    Slot-Loading 8x SuperMulti Drive (DVDR/RW) (Standard)

Which one should I get? Are they any good? If not, can you please build another alienware for me that is priced around 2200-2700 usd?
And please don't start with how I should get a pc or a better laptop since alienware is trash and all that as I already made my mind.

    Thank you in advance, Gonzo.

You've already made up your mind. You admit to not knowing anything about computers, you ask us for advice, but you will not admit that Alienware is polished shit. Buy whatever the fuck you want. Do your own fucking research.
    THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST

Don't let these niggas fools you. Get the m18x as it has bigger screen for better gaming experience.

The only ONE thing that I don't like about Alienware laptops is that the screen isn't anti-glare,

If you want to enjoy gaming or movies you better turn off the lights, or if you could get an anti-glare so you can put it on the screen that's just fine.

I've bought the m18 R2 for about 3k$ since it came out. And it's has been fucking rocks running all kinds of games, I don't even turn it off. I keep it running all the time.
