Not really. I think the amount people willing to donate is only a small fraction of the people that downloaded the public client. Maybe 30ish people, it is hard to tell. Could be far less.

Yes I think this is a good idea.

Pay for the work. Also sad that you have stopped with your releasing of clients. Maybe this should be the only way you release clients... making people pay

yeah the donate idea is a good idea.
if x amount of $ isnt reached each period of time (example : month) then you dont release it for the next month until its reached.

kind of like how youtubers do videos. if they dont get so many subs or likes they wont post the next vid.

just wanted to say thank you for all of the past clients. amazing work and its unfortunate what happened. people just become selfish at the end of the day.

Perhaps a two tiered approach could work. Here is the general idea: Release a public client as I have in the past with the inclusion of a donation button. As a show of appreciation for those who donate I'll make a special client for them with some additional features. This special client will be subject to measures to prevent people from leaking it out to others just like a private client would.

While i do realize that getting paid should be part of job, there are problems that come immediately after that.

If someone pays for the client, then he could expect that he gets the client ASAP when next update is out - he has paid for you after all. You had no obligations to update before.
If someone gets banned for using client, he can claim that it was because of your work and expect a refund. Lets say you had made a silly mistake and that was indeed your fault.... all kind of problems arise from that.

It gets much easier to track you down when you get money - mpgh does not host any currency system afaik and so handling payments requires using external systems, that can be forced to hand over information (easier than mpgh). Laws tend to get much stricter when money is involved. A simple misdeed can go to criminal offense if money is involved.

I would start with a donate button - people can just send you money and you may do something in return if you want. Heck, i guess someone may send something for things you have done in the past

I haven't yet decided yet but some possibilities are avoid death, multiboxing, tomb aim, additional console commands. I also plan on stripping auto loot and auto ability from the public release. These two will be in the private version.

Basically it means I would post a public client as before with everything found in the 21.5.0 release except auto loot and auto ability.

Hmm, I guess you could do a two-tiered client, but I don't think it should be more than $5 tbh.
