Not possible, but I imagine it could work like cheating the system into giving you the highest grade wep in a case (knife ofc) when you open one. I believe that way you can't get caught easily either since you did open a case and got a drop not just some random "oh i just put tons of knives n' shit in my inventory without actually trading them or opening any case. (not even talking about map drops)

But that's just my imagination working, it would be too complicated, if not impossible to do.

Anything that is related to computers is possible.

It's just that in order for you to actually hack and item, you need to hack the Steam Database, which is security protected by the same sort of security Facebook has, so only a highly skilled covert hacker would be able to hack it.

Not that a highly skilled covert hacker would actually be just trying to get a few guns to play on a game/sell for $50 on the steam marketplace.

No, they would probably hack things on a wide scale level, like a bank for 7 or 8 figures. But most work for underground 7 figure stuff, at a much harder to get arrested place.

This is IMPOSSIBLE.

Items are handeled server-side. You can ofcourse attempt to hack into the Valve database and give yourself the items, but the chance that you'll get away with that is 0.01%.
