I'd go Dell inspirion 5447 15.6 as it seems more worth the price. Honestly 4.5 hours of battery life isn't much for the second option

The Dell .
If you have the money, go for a MBA. The lightness and thinness helps a lot, plus the battery life is really good. But if you're on a budget, Leveno has a plenty of laptops for students with a good price range. Dell's cheaper laptops usually (in my experience) don't preform as well as their higher brand ones (obviously compared to other companies).
Depends on what you're doing, just typing word documents? Or photoshop?
