The best gun in the game is so far the AK-47.
The m4, although might be better in other games, it's pretty crappy in A.V.A. The recoil is extremely high and its accuracy is horrible. Even if you customize it to the fullest extend, it still sucks, just a bit less. The AK-47 has great acurracy, damage and recoil. The only downside is that you can't add basic attachments to it, such as a scope.
The guns are pretty balanced in my opinion. Unlike in Combat Arms where the G36E has a 3 shot kill damage, almost perfect precise accuracy and a sniper scope.
