Current games cant keep up?

i was thinking about this some time ago,the current games that come out for pc/console dont really hold our attention for very long
i dont have many games i put a shitton of hours into.

a really good game is a gane a played for more than 400 hours with/without stops

into that category a few games come to mind:

maplestory - i have over 1400 hours in that game,it used to be ALOT of fun. considering i AFK'd tho id say around 800 hours of playtime

crossfire - used to be alot of fun with fairly amazing graphics (i played really bad looking games before that)

pokemon diamond and emerald - in both i catched em all

these days? nothing... i heard skyrim cought people's attention for a long time. but ive not played something much over the starting hype of its release.

do you know any games that still capture your attention these days?

DayZ=Still in alpha version after two years with tons of bugs.

CSGO= was cool 10 years ago ay

I think it just has something to do with the development cycles of games. The publishers set crappy deadlines and we end up have unfinished games. The story doesn't get refined, the mechanics end up being poor and the end result is loss of interest really quickly.
