Section 1:READ FIRST!!

Ok guys First off If you can use a mouse you can do this guide. This guide is for Windows XP operating systems only. Dont attempt to do this guide on a windows vista system I dont know if the comands will work or not ect.

Rule No.1-

Dont freak out if ya mess somthing up and I'm not here to help you I check forums about once every 2-3 days.Dont blame me take responsibility for your own noobish actions. And there are other places to Find help if you need it that bad like google live search and majorgeeks.

Dont Flame this post it took me a long time to type all this up and make it avalible for you to use. If you dont have somthing constructive to say the dont say it.

Ok now that we covered all that lets get started.


Section 2: Make sure your PC isnt Infected with MALWARE.

Ok there are some off site links here. I use these all the time these guys are experts at malware removal. Very professional and the best part is FREE.

Now if you did everything right you just spent 5-8 hours of your life learning the ins and outs of malware removal. Now when you accidently download a virus you know the ins and outs of removing it. These guides are manditory if you plan on testing hacks for games.


Section 3: MicroSoft Configuration

Ok in this section I will be teaching you how to use your MicroSoft Configuration Tool. What we are going to do is disable some system services and start up software. Please follow my guide to the letter so you dont get lost or confused.

Copy this guide to a notepad and close all windows

(to make a notepad text document just ruight click anywhere on your desktop then select new>text document)

Step 1:

Lets begin-

Click>> Start
Click>> Run
Type >> MSConfig
Click>> OK

Now you should be presented with the MSconfig tool.

Take a good look at it this thing is a gamers best friend

You will notice on the first tab it says-

Normal start up
Diagnostic start up
Selective start up

If By any means you mess anything up while doing this you can come to this TAB and put a check in the Normal start up box this will fix anything you changed its a fail safe

You should also notice there are some tabs the two we are using will be Services and Start up. Well moving on now that you are familurized with the device.

Step 2:

Click the tab labled >> Start up

Here there will be a bunch boxes with checks in them and programs that start with your computer. What we are gonna do is eliminate all of them >EXCEPT< your firewall, Antispyware, and AntiVirus. Now that you know what we are doing onward and forward.

Click on the Icon that says >> Disable All

All the checks should be removed.

Now scroll through the list find your firewall (if its there I use a personal one so mines listed windows fire wall wont be tho.) Your antispyware tool if ya have one and your antivirus tool if ya have one again.

Put a check in the boxes next to those 3 .

Now click >> Apply

Step 3:

Click the tab labled >> Services
Put a check in the box that says>> HIDE ALL MICROSOFT

Here we have a list of all services installed on your pc for devices even old ones you uninstalled.

In here you can disable anything you dont use regularly like printers scanners anything outdated ect.

To disable just uncheck the box

Important >>Dont disable your firewall,antivirus or antispyware tools<<

Everything else is fine you can re-enable them at anytime you know how to use the tool now.(applys for non microsoft)

Ok lets uncheck that box that says Hide all microsoft.

This part is optional I do this though so hackers cant remote access my pc from other locations. If you use TeamVeiw or remote access your pc from other locations like work,school, and ect. Just click apply and your done. If however you dont remote acess your PC at all these are open ports that hackers can use and you should close them.

Scoll through the list and disable the following:

Media Center Reciever
Media Center Scheduler
NetMeeting Remote Des...
Remote Access Auto Co...
Remote Access Conecti..
Remote Desktop Help Ser....
Remote Registry

IMPORTANT >>Do NOT Disable these 2<<<<
These are required for system to run properly.

Remote procedure call (....
Remote procedure call (....


Click>> apply
Click>> Ok/done

You will be prompted to restart your PC >>Let it restart<<

Now a box will pop up after restart saying your Microsoft Configuration has been changed.

Put a check in the box that says dont show this at next start up and click ok.

Wow your doin good if ya got this far Pat yourself on the back.

Section 4: Tweeking Gear

You should be noticing your PC is running faster already. Now we are going to further increase/improve that speed.

Step 1:

Go to this link and download >THE FREE VERSION no need to spend money unless you want to. I use the free version also

Advanced SystemCare Free | Free Windows XP/Vista/7 Registry Cleaner, Clean Privacy & Speed Up PC

This is Advanced system care- Tool by IoBit (makers of game booster)

While you are installing it make sure set it to manual start up not auto or you have to go in msconfig tool under start up tab and disable it.

Step 2:

Start the device

Click>> Maintain Windows
Click>> Scan
When scan is finished
Click>> Repair

Step 3:

Click>> Diagnose system
Click>> Scan
When scan completes
Click>> Repair

Step 4:

Click>> Utilities
Click>> Disk check
Let it complete
Click>> Disk Clean
Let it complete
Click>> Internet booster
Click>> Automatic
Adjust the speed gauge to speed you want or your internet provides Mine is 10M
Click>> Optimize
Close it up after completeing
Click>> IoBit registry defrag
Follow the instructions to the Tee.
Let it complete

Step 5:

Repeat step 2
Click>> Maintain Windows
Click>> Scan
When scan is finished
Click>> Repair

Step 6:

Go to this link download and install GameBooster {BY.IoBit}

Game Booster | Faster Play, Free Download | Free Game Accelerator Download

Step 7:

Start Game Booster

Click tab labled >> Game Defrag
Click>> Combat Arms
Click>> Analyze
Click>> Defrag
When its complete Close GameBooster

Wooo man that was alota work lmao Your doin great though keep it up your almost there.


Section 5: Update services

In this section I am going to teach you how you control the functionality of your system services they have 5 options:

Automatic
Manual
Disable
Start
Stop

We Wont be disabling anything in this section but its an option for you.
Please close all windows.

Step 1:

Click>> Start
Click>> Run
Type >> Services.msc
Click>> ok/enter

Now you should have the System Control panel infront of you neat huh :P

Step 2:

Scroll through through the list Look for all the things that automatically update (not your games) example automatic update, firewall updater,Antivirus updater, and antispyware Udater.

Once you find one you want do the following heres an example.

I see automatic updates.

Right click it
Click>> Properties
Change>> Startup type to manual
Click>> Apply
Click>> OK

This will stop your updaters from sending remindes, warnings and starting While you are playing a game

Note- After doing this what ever software you put on manual you will have to start manually..

Example: I want to update my windows

Oh no error service is not presant or started???

Click>> Start
Click>> Run
Type>> Services.msc
Click>> ok/enter
Right Click >> Automatic updates
Click>> properties
Click the button labled>> Start

Close the device and run your update.


Not to much work there nice easy section for you .

Section 6: Starting your game properly

Ok this section is to start your game properly. I know your like I know how to double click the icon dude.. Well that isnt what this is about Dude lol.

Step 1:

Disable ALL CPU hungry software.

Heres a list:
FireWall
Antivirus
Antispyware
{gamebooster doesnt have admin rights to close these}

OMG are you crazy dude!!!! No I'm not if you disabled all remote access to your pc and the onlything your running is the game you wont get hacked. The less cpu usage you have the less lag you have during the game.

Step 2:

Run GameBooster (dont update without security on if prompted just get it later when security is up)

Click>> switch to gaming mode
Click>> close them

Step 3:

Clear your temp folder located at C:\documentsandsettings\Owner(maybeyourname)\Local settings\temp\
Delete everything in there only do it after a system restart tho cause nexon puts a file in there that runs after games turned off.
This fixes the garbled sound in the game.

Step 4:

Start your game and enjoy.

Congrats your done ya did great Game still lagin just not as bad?? Check section 7.


Section 7: Ingame Settings

This sections pretty self explanitory.

Click the little gear once logged in its in the uper right hand corner of screen.

Click display/graphical and put thyem all at minimums.

Restart your game and waalaa thats as lag free as you game will get with your current specs.

It helped a lot for the lag I almost always get on combat arms, I still lag sometimes though... mostly internet problems though

I have it saved on my zip drive so I did copy and paste it. But I DID write it. Its my first release on every forum I use Saves me time pastin instead of typin everytime I join a forum. If you find this tutorial anywhere with anyones name on it but mine you let me know I'll have a few unplesant words with that poster believe me

Edit- it has quite a few Typo's I still havent edited out of it yet But it servs its purpose those 10-12 mispelled words/broken sentences isnt preventing people from completeing it. I'm just being lazy I typed this up while my newborn was in my arm and my wife was naggin me, Then wouldnt ya know the inlaws came over it was so stop and go it took me like 2 hours and then I didnt even spell check it i just saved it to notepad and sent it to my zip drive lmao.
