Please note that this is my first post on this site, and I am sort of a beginner when it comes to this...
My understanding is that punkbuster works in the same way as antivirus, it scans your memory for certain signatures of known threats. Does this mean that punkbuster has a huge database of known aimbots and other hacks? If so, this means they must be constantly searching the internet for the newest mods, dissembling them, and finding their signatures? So, if a private programmer decided to write an aimbot for a game, and never released it publicly, then it would remain undetectable by punkbuster, or at least be much more difficult to detect?
Of course I am making many assumptions and everything I state above is just speculation based on that initial statement about signature scanning.
