I agree that the RotMG Private Server's Section needs to have it's own title and it needs to be it's own source.

Well, i'm going to release something really big soon.
Group effort is far more effective then any alone individual between us we have the know-how to program or copy the entire realm of the mad god server/client architecture building a module game engine and server is better then coding bots or proxies. Perhaps making a game similar to rotmg but with different features like tower defence mechanics for defence within the realms, farms for base building, a complete framework for the server/client architecture would be required for experimenting probably written in c++ or java a new virtual world server/client architecture, requires a detailed design documentation, what’s missing is innovation and originality, rotmg sucks because it’s old school.

You'd be surprised what a well coded C# app can do. I've gotten my server supporting 60 players without lag. Even had 125 players on at once and it was still playable (mob reactions slowed down a bit). Anyways, the point is, C# can compete with lower level languages like C if done right.
Right now, I'm thinking of ways to scale the server. Parallel computing is one aspect that I think holds a lot of promise. It would be nice to be able to sustain a player base of 200 players in one contiguous game server without lag. Dreams are something to reach for... maybe I won't succeed but that isn't going to stop me from trying.
@Botmaker, thanks for the post. That link you posted is interesting.

Be careful, stray too far from the pack and you'll get lost.

I guess your right, everything is possible if you know how to do it, and that dream is not in the sky. :P
And if that doesn't work out, there's always the idea of making a whole new server with c++, could be a fun experience.
I wish you nothing but luck!
I'm always here if you want to show me your progress, I'm very interested.
