Ultrabooks are good, light, thin, good battery life. I have an Acer S3 or S5, which are $500 or less. Mine can run MineCraft and probably LoL too.
I am three weeks away from starting my summer semester and I need to get a new laptop. I want to get a laptop that is light and portable, but that is also capable of playing games like League of legends and Minecraft at decent fps also I would prefer if it had a backlit keyboard. My budget is under $1000 and it can't be a mac, so please leave me some suggestions.

Dell XPS 13, friend has one it's good.
Asus K55A.
Many people on my school use this laptop including me it has no light but it runs LoL and MC on high specs so..
I agree with @Paradise` . The new Dell XPS 13 laptop looks amazing and has pretty decent specs for the price. Although, I've heard complaints about the fan.
I use the Lenovo Y510P or most of the ideapads. But keep in mind Lenovo service sucks huge dicks. Laptops are pretty damn nice though.
Thanks everyone, I decided to go with the Dell XPS 13 since they're equipped with the new 5th gen intel processors.
I'd purchase a Lenovo Y50.
