THIS IS A GUIDE TO A COUPLE WELL KNOWN TRICKS ON HOW TO FREE RAM FOR YOUR PC, WHICH IN TURN ALLOWS THAT RAM TO BE USED FOR YOUR GAME, AND LAG WILL BE REDUCED GREATLY.
Cleaning Services/Startup using MSConfig
Accessing MSConfig On Windows 7
Accessing MSConfig On Windows Vista
Accessing MSConfig On Windows XP
When you install programs or software, it is likely that they install some sort of Service for your computer to run, most commonly, updates.
To remove such Services we go to the Services Tab on the System Configuration Utility (msconfig) > Check "Hide All Microsoft Services" > Click "Disable All"
Programs and software often ask if you'd like them to run on Windows Start Up. Sometimes the programs don't even ask, they just install themselves.
To stop them from running on Start Up, we go to the Startup Tab on the System Configuration Utility > Click "Disabel All" > Click "Apply", Click "Close" BUT DO NOT REBOOT YET!
Windows Performance Settings
Right click your Desktop icon for "My Computer" / "Computer" (you can also use the Start Menu) > Click "Properties" at the bottom of the list > Go to the "Advanced" Tab and Click "Settings" under "Performance" > Click "Adjust for best performance" > Click "Apply"
Next we want to increase the Paging File size. The Paging File is a file used to store unneeded pages of memory. It is constantly used for various needs of running and installing programs.
On the Performance Options window, Click the "Advanced" Tab > Click the "Change" Button under "Virtual Memory" > Click "Custom size:" > Set "Initial size (MB):" to whatever it says "Minimum allowed:" is, And set "Maximum size (MB):" to Double whatever it says "Recommended:" is > Click "Set", "Ok" on Virtual Memory window, "Ok" on Performance Options window, and finally "Ok" on System Properties window.
NOW YOU MAY REBOOT

wtfiwantthatname.....you really dont know what you're talking about... i've disabled the Page File on my OS HDD before.. lasted about a month before it was filled with so many bad sectors it wouldn't even boot... it just clicked repeatedly..
You want to ruin your own hard drive.. thats on you.. but im not going to allow you to convince other noobs that its helpful when really its dangerous...
/posts deleted.
basically to sum that up, reinstall or get a new computer.
and you forgot to add delete system dump files and hibernation files![]()
