Bypass MAC Address Bans with Packet Editing

Okay, so you've been MAC banned from a Private Server? There are several programs you can use to spoof your MAC address but when applicable, this method is much easier. If you don't know what being MAC banned is, it is where your client will crash after character selection.

First thing you will want to do is inject a packet editor to the private server where you are banned at, from there you will go to character selection and enter your PIC. After this, MapleStory should crash and you will have a disconnected from server message -- however, your packet editor should still be open. From here, you look at your sent packets and look for a packet that looks something like this -- it could be much longer:

This packet contains your PIC, all of your MAC addresses and your routers serial number. You will need to change this information.

To do that, you will need to download a program called HxD Hex Editor, I have provided a link to download it at the bottom of the thread. What you will need to do once you have installed this program is hit File > New, from here you paste in the packet you recorded from earlier. In my example, it will show the information:

From here, I will change one letter or number in both MAC address and the serial at the end.

This will change the hex to the following:

1E 00 06 00 31 31 31 31 31 31 30 A9 00 00 24 00 30 36 2D 30 30 2D 32 36 2D 30 30 2D 34 30 2D 31 43 2C 20 30 35 2D 31 39 2D 34 42 2D 44 45 2D 42 33 2D 34 41 15 00 39 34 30 30 32 37 30 30 34 30 31 34 5F 39 34 42 32 34 31 39 34

So, you save that to a .txt file and whenever you want to log in you just sent that packet at character selection. You'll need to remake this packet every time you get MAC banned, change characters or change accounts -- it's really less of a hassle than it sounds.

No. Extalia uses their own packet encryption to my knowledge, which means that it can't be packet edited with a standard editor. If someone were to figure out the encryption (I don't even know where to start) then we'd be in business.

For Extalia you should just use a MAC changer like SMAC (Pirate It)/TMAC (Free).

Seems you broke the packet by editing the size and breaking the structure. Try this:
