Other player's IP Addresses DO show up if you put in 'netstat -a' in command prompt while in-game. Just a bit difficult to discern other players out of the listing.

Verified this myself a few days ago while playing with a few friends with known IP Addresses.

That's exactly what to do (: that's how the drophack was made haha. I had a VIP drophack but now it's patched.

And to answer your question, yes, it is possible to get the IP address of others. But to DDoS/DoS while you are playing can affect you also. DoSing someone is like a double edge sword, if your internet can't handle sending all the packets to the other IP, your internet will take the fall. It's practically battle of the internets lol.
