Ya it was pretty cool tbh haha
Zeno did say that if Goku didn't go all out then he'd destroy the universes regardless. He's seen Goku go blue before so he'd know. I love the way they presented it, the gods were in shock :P
Dude, I didn't like how they got Goku to go Super Saiyan God in the latest episode. Would have been way better to make him show it in the fight with that other guy that challenged him. Such a waste of transformation showoff.
Well yeah, I guess your point is valid. I guess they just wanted to have feelings involved where the people gave him their energies. I'm hella waiting on the fight between Goku and that god of destruction (don't remember his name, something-sama xd), and if they decide not to fight I still want to see how it will turn out. But judging by the opening, we gonna have a few entertaining fights coming our way. One possible thing I don't like about DBS is what they turned Goku into. Like yeah I get the whole fighting love and whatnot but literally all he does now is think about fights. Not that it is bad, but he has like no personality. An ongoing series right now I am watching is Konosuba (1 & 2), I love it. It's based off comedy and adventures. I like how characters develop every episode, like not just the initial impression that is applied to them.
Shut up Dilip.
Man I wrote too much again. DB does this to me. Nah I'm not watching any other anime at the moment. The older I grow I'm finding it harder and harder to connect with the medium as a whole. A lot of anime is directed at teenagers and people in that high school time of their lives. The last anime (other than DBS) that I enjoyed watching was Hellsing Ultimate. Saw it about 2 months back.
But with Trunks beating Merged Zamasu like that, man, it seems like a fucking cop out. Gotta remember that Future Trunks was BARELY able to get past his timeline's Dabura just a year or so before Black appeared and Dabura is around SSJ2 level. For Future Trunks to come in to DBS, struggle so hard against an inexperienced Black Goku, then what? Suddenly after training with Vegeta in the time chamber and going through this anger transformation bullshit he's on the same level as a God? I found that hard to believe, but then just a few episodes later he's on the same level as a merged god who even Vegito struggled to keep up with. Vegito, the strongest character in all of Dragon Ball until DBS came along. For the show to just push it in my face that Trunks became that strong out of nowhere just insulted my intelligence lol. At least Gohan made sense. But it was Future Trunks's arc so they had to end it with him and made him OP.
So to be fair, if you go back and look at it, they put in so many signs hinting at Gohan being stronger than his Dad and were hyping him up since childhood. His sudden rise in power made a lot of sense. Akira Toriyama, the creator of DB, actually planned to end the entire series with Gohan beating cell because DBZ was meant to be Gohan's coming of age story, just like the original DB was Goku's coming of age story. But too much fan pressure came on him and they wanted DBZ to continue and they wanted Goku to be the hero.
In the days leading up to the Cell Games, it was implied many times that Gohan might have been stronger than Goku. Gohan was legit unimpressed when Goku showed off his power to Korin so he could judge if he was on Cell's level or not. Goku unleashed like 50% of his power and everyone else was blown back except Gohan and he said something like "That can't really be half of Dad's power." and then even when Goku was fighting Cell everyone had trouble keeping up with the speed of the fight and Gohan and Vegeta were the only ones who could judge what was going on and Gohan said something like his Dad isn't even trying at all and not fighting hard enough but then Goku said that he was using all of his power against Cell. When Gohan fought Cell as a regular Super Saiyan he honestly wasn't that far off Goku's power but as we all know Gohan had the hidden anger and potential inside him which helped him to SSJ2 quicker than the other Saiyans.
Gohan as a kid beating Cell made sense though dude, because like, ever since the start of DBZ they were hyping Gohan up and giving him training with Piccolo and giving him significant moments vs Raditz and vs Frieza and they were constantly hinting at an extraordinary power within him that only came out when he was angry and they constantly reminded us of how much potential he had. Then remember he had the whole year in the time chamber with Goku and was exposed to more stress than he ever had been under in his life and he had to go through that to unlock his Super Saiyan form.
Yeah, changing the set rules kind of bothered me in the transformation but it's whatever. I think Trunk's victory was pretty good, well it's dragon ball after all. lol If you remember, in DBZ when Gohan as a kid defeated Cell alone when Goku himself struggled to win. That's one thing I like about DB, not only the main character that is doing work you know You watch anything besides Dragon Ball?
When I say black fight I mean the fused zamasu/black one.
That's true, but I hate how the Black fight ended tho. Seemed kinda rushed and just a way to make Trunks look OP before his arc ended. Should have ended with Vegito, fuck this fusion timer shit. They rewrote the rules on that one since Potara fusion is meant to last forever. Fucking bullshit retcon.
I can tell your passion for the series ^^ I have not ever seen DB as an anime, that is why I never compared to any other; simply it is unique in its own way. I remember having the game for it on PS2 too, shit was so much fun, smashing all the button for instant transmission and to power up xd What I truly love about Super is the new era they have entered, new power ups, abilities etc. One thing that bothers me about DB as a whole is when they for example "win" a fight, they all jinx it; at that moment you can tell something will happen that will turn the tables. But on the positive side, a fight with like Black (In the future), they lost it multiple times which gave it a different taste than just having Goku do the impossible from the first time.
Read from the bottom up. I have too much free time on my hands tonight.
Contrary to what you might believe after reading all that, I was actually quite cool in school.
--Continued--- Living in an age where Dragon Ball super is being created right before my eyes has just made me so happy as a DBZ fan who never fully got to experience what it was like 'actually growing up with the series'. Since it did take me quite a while to watch everything. I just want DBS to live up to expectations and so far it's doing so. I hope it never ends but when they finally put it to bed it's gonna be one of the worst days of my life lmfao.
---Continued--- Then when I was like 13 I torrented the entire series of Z and started from episode 1 and binge watched over a few weeks all the way up to 295 or however many episodes there are. It made so much more sense but I did love the show already. Then I watched GT, and realised wait Goku is a kid....again? and That's how I found out the original Dragon Ball series existed. So I watched that too. Kinda weird when you think of the order I originally watched them all in. It didn't matter in the end though, I still mark the fuck out over anything Dragon Ball related. And the old Ps2 games were the only things keeping me sane growing up in a pretty hectic environment. Not to mention I've tried to use the Instant Transmission and the Kamehameha more than a few times irl. (Such a fucking geek I swear I make myself sick!)
The English dub of DB/Z/GT/Super is the shizzle bro! Don't let anyone tell you it's crap. Both Goku and Gohan are voiced by a 80 year old lady in the japanese dub. I can't handle it. I can't remember the first time I saw Dragon Ball Z but I do think it was on some morning tv kids show here in Australia. And then ever since age 7 I rented whatever DVD's of Dragon Ball Z episodes I could from the video store and watched everything out of order but I just liked the flashy colors and the fight scenes and Goku was basically my hero. I think I completed the Buu saga before anything else (because they had most of that at the video store 'cuz it was fairly new at the time), and I had no idea who everyone was but still fucking loved it. Hey I was a kid ya can't blame me.
Yeah same. lol A month or two ago I got back into Anime and started watching Dragon Ball, starting with DBZ:Kai - Was watching it dub (Yes, I used to watch DB only in dub), but it was still being aired so I literally just watched DBZ starting from Majin Buu's saga (Like 70ep or something). Now I can barely wait every week for the new Super episode man, even though it is sub which I am not used to in Dragon Ball, I'm hella enjoying it. It's one of the few series I've started watching before it finishes airing, even though i'm impatient.
Mate, Dragon Ball was my childhood and I've seen everything DB related / played all the games and shit. Can't get enough. How would I NOT be up to date on Super?! It's freaking awesome at the moment. The first 30 or so episodes gave me low expectations but ever since Universal Tournament arc (the first one) I've been on the edge of my seat after each Sunday's episode and waiting impatiently for the next week's episode. I hate it. This is why I wait until series are finished and then binge watch them if they are good. Dragon Ball Super is literally one of the only things in my life I think about every week waiting for the next damn episode.... Ok well so, yeah I'm kinda a DB nut. Lol. Are you watching? How's things. Zen-chan is my man.
Zen-oh! Have you been keeping up with the series? I love DB Super
