  1. I'm gonna ask you the same question a recruiter is going to ask you. Why do you want to join? How old are you, and are you in college at the moment? The military is definitely a commitment as you already know, so be wise when chosing. I've got buddies in the Navy that absolutely love it. Air Force is another option right now to avoid getting shipped to Afghanistan or Iraq right now. I got shipped to Iraq then straight to Afghanistan a year after I joined. Marines and Army are more likely to get sent over right now and recruiters will tell you that. Its hard to say, man. There's nothing good about war, at all, but that's the gamble. I got my BA in the Marines, so ended up killing 2 birds with 1 stone. College was the reason I joined in the first place, then things started moving a different direction. If you decide you want to join, keep in touch with me and I can help you out. I've got lots of friends in all branches, and can hopefully get you moving in the right direction.
  2. I've been seriously considering joining the military when I'm older. But I'm not sure, since it's likely I'll get shipped off to the middle east. Which is in my opinion, is waste of money, time, and lives.
  3. I've got 3 more years left, wouldn't turn back time if I could. Its hard to tell what may happen in these 3 years, depending if I get shipped back overseas or get to spend the remainder in the US with my girlfriend (crosses fingers). Definitely learned a lot, traveled, not much of a vacation but its been worth it. Right now I'm anxious to start moving things forward with my girlfriend. We've been together for 4 years, but its hard to make time to get married or anything like that.
  4. How is that holdin up for you?
  5. Yes, sir.
