All right, sit down and get comfy, this is gonna be a long one...
Okay so, minecraft has... changed to say the least, it used to be what I believed the best PC game I've ever played, but now... Im not so sure. It went from a game about building and just having fun to some kind of RPG. The adventure update was the first step, now this BS with the potions and enchanting.. ehhhhhhhh... I just fell like this isn't what I paid for. Now I know that things would needed to have changed eventually, but I am still kinda pissed. Minecraft was perfect the way it was in 1.7 I loved it. Now with the hunger and the dragons, it just feels like what made it so good has been taken away. Don't get me wrong, I can still enjoy the game, but not nearly as much as I used to. I think I might just see if some people still play on 1.7 or lower. I also heard of a plug-in that disables the hunger and sprinting etc. if someone could confirm that, that would be cool.
So anyway yeah, what do you guys think? You like the new stuff? Or are you like me, and wish it was back to "normal" minecraft? Do share and feel free to tell me I'm an idiot.
The adventure update was still ok but in my opinion the new things suck
Way too much rpg
till 1.8 minecraft was one of the best games ever now i almost stopped playing
but still its notch game he decides about the future of minecraft
I just ignore it and go on with my Minecraft life. One thing I really don't like is the end boss...
Minecraft has changed too much for the better. It went from a bare bones game with small secret friday updates adding maybe one or two items or blocks, to massive updates.
In the process of adding content, they create a world with too much immersion. Hunger shifted survival server focus from fort building to farming and empire building, a more or less better change, but screwing over casual players not interested in hunger system. The adventure update marked an update with so much content that it wasn't fun to seek it all out. With the release of 1.0.0, we can now predict that Notch's video game influence on Minecraft will be based around what's happening in the video game world.
I.E. dragons in an update meant for release near skyrim, hmm... Not to mention potion systems and stat effects. This game is no longer action/adventure, it's encroaching on RPG/adventure territory.0
But really, the hunger system ruined the game for what it was.
The only thing I don't like is the hunger. I don't care about things because they are optional. The rest causes of tedious animal hunting

Too right man.
I share what paladin says and I agree with the fact that 1.7.3 and 1.8.1 was the best Minecraft has been.
I liked Alpha 1.2.6
Hunger has got to go though. Thats all I ask. And The End if possible.

The End needs more objectives and resources, and hunger should be disabled by default.
I'm not a fan of being able to fall into a ravine and be instantly healed because I'm not hungry.

Lol exactly. I was recording when I saw my life go up. I paused and checked if I was on Peaceful. Hunger should be used for Sprint. Not for your life.
