Yes I agree, I didn't think about it at the time (I don't play anymore) but look at it from a business perspective. No reason for them not to do it.
I've found any time I use any of the free entries to the event that they do that usually only lets you lose 3 times i'm always paired with people with much higher skill than me and with fancy borders around their emblem thing. I always get fucked in those and it frustrates me. I feel like fodder for the people who pay with gems

Yes to a certain degree tho.
There are bots on ladder to help paying customers go higher in trophies.
Rigged its like the casino right lmao
I definitely feel that it is, when I change teams 3 out of 5 times the teams I face off against have altered counters to my team, and it will stay that way until I change my team again then I find myself with a new counter. It's not 100% but its definitely there to add frustration so you buy more stuff. Something new seems to be the increase in max lvl players with max lvl cards either trolling or bottling below 5k, this is a game where strategy only goes so far, if you are a couple card lvls behind you have no chance even against a bot with max cards most of the time.
No. Its not rigged. There is no way to determine the outcome of the match before its played.
You're just looking at one way of rigging the game, I don't think anyone is suggesting the outcome is rigged but you can easily use an algorithm to give players a matchup that they are likely to lose at based on the composition of the team. There's actually been several YouTubers that investigated this in pretty good detail, clash Royale definitely employs this tactic. Causing you to face teams you're more likely to lose after a few wins is meant to aggravate you, if uou played 10 battles and you haven't hardly progressed at all, you're much more likely to pay for something in the hopes of upgrading some of your cards.
They aren't the first ones to do this and they won't be the last, it's been proven effective, people make bad decisions when they are emotional, and rage or frustration are excellent motivators.
