[Guide] Sona: The Maven of the Strings

Background: Sona has no memory of her true parents. As an infant, she was found abandoned on the doorstep of an Ionian adoption house, nestled atop an ancient instrument in an exquisite case of unknown origins. She was an unusually well-behaved child, always quiet and content. Her caretakers were sure she would find a home quickly, but it soon became apparent that what they mistook for uncommon geniality was actually an inability to speak or to produce any sound whatsoever. Sona remained at the adoption house until her teens, watching in hopeless silence as prospective adopters passed her by. During this time, the caretakers sold her unusual instrument to anxious collectors, hoping to build her a trust. For a myriad of bizarre and unexpected reasons, however, it would be returned, or simply appear again outside the house.

When a wealthy Demacian woman named Lestara Buvelle learned of the instrument, she immediately embarked to Ionia. When the caretakers showcased the instrument for her, she rose wordlessly and explored the house, stopping outside Sona’s room. Without hesitation, Lestara adopted her and left a generous donation for the instrument. With Lestara’s guidance, Sona discovered a deep connection with the instrument which Lestara called an "etwahl". In her hands, it played tones which stilled or quivered the hearts of those around her. Within months, she was headlining with the mysterious etwahl for sold-out audiences. She played as though plucking heartstrings, effortlessly manipulating the emotions of her listeners - all without a single written note. In secret, she discovered a potent and deadly use for her etwahl, using its vibrations to slice objects from a distance. She honed this discipline in private, mastering her gift. When she felt prepared, she went to the only place which could offer her a fitting recital: the League of Legends.

Items:

1) Doran's Ring: Gives Health, Mp5, and AP, which will help you stay in the lane longer than usual.
2) Tears of the Goddess: This Item will help you get more mana and you'll be good when you upgrade it.
3) Boots of Speed: Get some movement on the relatively slow sona.
4) Blasting Wand: That +40 AP doesn't hurt to your healing and damage
5)Archangels Staff: Combine your Tears of the Goddess and Blasting Wand to get the Archangels Staff, which does basically the same thing as both but 3% of of your mana is also added to you AP which is nice.

6) Convert your boots of speed to Mercury Threads giving you some magic resist.

7) Deathfire Grasp: This is nice as it give you +AP and Mp5, reduces ability cooldowns, but also gives you a Nuke, which along you hymn is devastating.

8) Lich's Bane: This along with your passive will cause devasting damage that your opponent will be baffled as to how you put out that much damage

9) Zhonya's Ring: If the game goes on long enough this will help you get that extra AP that you'll need to end it.

Masteries & Summoner Abilities
Masteries: For your Masteries you'll want to go with the standard 9/0/21, that way you can get the most out of Sona.

SA: The summoner abilities are as follows for Sona.

1) Clairvoyance: This is helpful for sona to be more map aware, it also is helpful early game, as it tells you who's going to be laning with you.

2) Flash: Since you are a squishy, and believe when I tell you, you are a squishy, you'll need to get out of those sticky situations with flash, but also keep in mind that during team battles you'll want to stay in the back of the pack to use sona to her full potential.

Notes:Sona's Passive Power Chord Power Chord is very strong if leveled up quickly. While she is suited to fight against multiple champions at a time, she however does not survive a lot. Consider your possibilities before each game.

Sona can be played as a DPS, Ability Power or Support Champion. Each Type of build is a unique gamestyle in itself and requires to test the builds beforehand.

Her Passive enables damaging enemies with auto attacks and focusing, while her abilities remain certainly usable for each situation. It requires however the most experience to master.

The AP ratios for her abilities are strong and her low cooldowns enable perfect usage of her auras quickly while dealing good damage and enabling quick aura switching.

Though Sona excels at pushing in group play, sustained aura rotation depletes her mana pool quickly. Taking blue buff is ideal for truly making her presence felt.

where there is something out there..watching an urgot at level 3 with no shield tanking a tower and taking no damage....watching an annie blow everything at level 4 and lose 0 mana while casting everything.....so there's something out there..and an overlay makes sense as it is almost impossible to detect

Most of the things in LoL are server based, therefore it is impossible to do it without being detected, and they most likely got banned, also please make another thread to discuss this as this is a sona guide thread.

I focused on heal skill and the speed one to support my lane partner and it was pretty good even if i am bad at this game.
