Clarifying CA texture editing(tutorial)

ok first of all let me say the g u r u hacks texture editor is NOT a texture editor. It MOVES FILES.


now that we have that out of the way, let's go on to making it work without that gay thing from a rival site. All it does is move the files of guns and other stuff so Engine.exe cannot access them, so they are untextured.





now, you go to your combat arms folder and go into the Game folder.

----for guns to be white, put all the files starting with GUNS_M into the BGM folder at the top(cut-paste NOT copy-paste.)


----for people to be white, put everything starting with CHARS_T into the BGM folder at the top(cut-paste NOT copy-paste.)


----for the environment to be white, put TEXTURES.rez into the BGM folder at the top(cut-paste NOT copy-paste.)





So, if you are wondering how this is a hack, here is the tutorial:

Make either people and guns OR the environment white, NOT BOTH. if you do both, it will look really weird and hard to play. Its much better to put JUST the environment, because then people stick out like chams.

as you can see, they stick out a lot. ive been using this for a while, becuase i dont lik crappy d/cing chams. this never d/ces you, and you cant get banned because youre not hacking or modifying files wrongly.

since CA works in lithetech, the untextured is not bright pink.(tidbit for exeperienced texture creators like me)

yes, the first thing i thought of was editing the .rez files for permanent super-chams with gray background, but because of the lithetech they cannot be edited. just trust me and the hundreds of others who have tried.

We all know the script file that runs the game which is in the ***** folder can change the way the whole game looks.
