I'll make a new robocraft account and see if just terminating the process via the task manager will work
Yet this is just the beginning of an idea
It seems like it could work from my perspective, but I don't master WPE, so I need someone with a better experience in hacking than me to make it sure.
Since it's no longer to target Robocraft with WPE, I've had the idea of using an executable called "UltraSurf". Ultrasurf is supposed to be a proxy-tool, to allow bypassing certain internet censorship.
What's interesting here is that Ultrasurf sort of monitors your connection, when activated, every packet a software sends should first go through Ultrasurf before being sent by ultrasurf to a proxy. So if WPE can't target robocraft.exe anymore, it's still possible to spy on its packets by targeting Ultrasurf.exe instead.
(The only cons is that you end up watching simultaneously the packets send by all your programs currently using internet, and it's quite a mess to figure them out...)
But, even though I was indeed able to catch packets obviously sent by robocraft, (plain text doesn't lie), I've tried to do the only thing I can do with WPE: making my robot's name colored.
And... I couldn't do it.
I didn't manage to find the packets I was expecting.
There seemt to be some activity in the packets when I was changing my robot names, but nothing that looked exploitable for me.
So I don't know whether robocraft changed the way they send packet, whether every packet in fact doesn't go through Ultrasurf, or if its because of Ultrasurf that has some encryption thing (possible since its meant for privacy, but unlikely since I've caught packets written in plain text).
That's where I can't do anything more with my current knowledge, so if anyone more experienced feels like digging into it...
I'll make a new robocraft account and see if just terminating the process via the task manager will work
If it works it probably wouldn't be Ultrasurf specific. Have a look at OpenVPN.
I think it should work because everything get trought the proxy but you should use Open VPN to test
I was only using UltraSurf because it already was on my computer...
so I've had a quick look at OpenVPN, but could catch any packet using it. I assume I must do something wrong but I'll have a closer look later, I'm quite busy atm.
A VM is easiest.
You mean Virtual Machine?
Why not, gonna keep it in a corner of my mind.
It'll take me a while as I don't have a copy of Windows lying around. Anyone reading this who has a Virtual Machine running, please give it a go?
lol k like hehe yea i thowt so.
^ I'm on it
I'm struggling finding my copy of windows since I haven't touched a virtual machine in a while but I'll see what I can do.
However, I feel like I'm gonna play Robocraft within a VM as long as they're using EAC.
