[K Relay] Adv Anti-Spam

Hey there! I'm not sure if something like this has been released before but this is a plugin to filter messages and combat spambots in the Nexus and through /tell. It works by blocking parts of messages which are set by the user, so this plugin doesn't need to be maintained or updated as spammers change their tactics. With the user input this should work 100% with all spam filtered.

There's only a few commands:

• /antispam enable (enable the plugin)
• /antispam disable (disable the plugin)
• /antispam settings (open the settings dialog)
• /antispam add [filter here] (add a telling part of a message to block groups of bots)

Also the settings:

• Filter (you can remove filters by clicking the 3 dots at the right)
• IgnoreBots (add bots to ignore list if true, default is false, you will have to unignore manually)

Currently you can only add filters through commands and remove filters using settings dialog because there's a bug in the way K Relay handles strings in PropertyGrid, but it's no problem at all.

Hi there, you can get K Relay here /showthread.php?t=1061221

once you've downloaded you can place .dll files (plugins) in the Plugins folder then run K_Relay.exe

So I think I broke my own chat. I can't see my own text bubbles, I did "/antispam add" once and it added just a blank string. I've removed the filter since.

I've troubleshooted a lot of things. Reset default settings on antispam, disable antispam, Flash player clear cache, new k-relay, new flashplayer, even on the realm website I can't see my own text bubbles. It seems that I may have placed myself into my own ignore list? Ofc it doesn't let me /unignore myself. Crappy pickle here, any help appreciated

Maybe you have chat off?
Check your RotMG options: Options->Chat->Hide Chat Window/Guild or Player Chat On/Off

It came back today, no idea what fixed it.



Edit: Sent a tell from vault (wouldn't send in nexus), now it's broken again.

Other things I've tried: Realm website after cookies and cache deleted. All default settings in rotmg menu.

I'm posting here because it happened immediately after I accidentally added a blank String filter. Although after all my troubleshooting it seems to be account based/server side.


Edit2: Played around with more things, changing the quality on my flash player from low to high lets me see my own text in chat and bubble. Changing back to low lets me see my own stuff but only for a short while, reverts back to problem.


Edit3: Edit2 no longer working. Tested an alt account, can chat just fine. Upgraded to Flash Player 23, no change. Seem to confirm that I somehow added myself to my own ignore list by adding a blank string and typing (Other players see my text, bug continues to occur on regular clients/realm website/no k-relay running). Although the momentary lapse in the bug is odd.


Edit4: Spamming in chat eventually let's me see my bubbles and text in chat -__-
