I was searching for an audio ripping tool for CoD: Black Ops 2 yesterday and found master131's thread
I needed some audio files from the game for an upcoming mod I'm going to make in the future, and I want to thank master131 for making that tool. Unfortunatly, the thread was closed, so I couldn't post my request there, so I made this thread.
I've been searching for an audio ripping tool for the Dead Space games for 2 years and have had almost zero progress. The problem is that the audio + model files are stored in .str files, which are some sort of encrypted engine based files, which are tough to be compressed into an understandable format. The ambiance sound files of the first game are stored in a folder containing a ton of .snu files, and I already found an audio compresser for those files. But the audio files I'm looking for are stored in files called .str, which I and the people who also have been interested in getting are unreachable without actually recording them via an external recording software.
All the texture, model and audio files of the second and latest games are stored on the other hand in folders called .DAT. I already found a programme that can view the insides of those files, but can be used only for getting model / texture files or modifying them. I also noticed tje audio files are stored in .snu and .str files in those games too, but the compresser that can be used on the first game's .snu files does not qork on them.
This place looks like it has some really professional coders, so if anyone is interested in helping me out with my problem, that'd be really, really nice!
Edit: No, this is not a hack request for those games, I already finished the first game with a cheat engine that game me unlimited money + ammo and it got extremely boring and too easy.
