Ratenjay's don't "target" anything specifically... It just keeps track of the keys you press and where you pressed them.

It stays in your computer unless you remove the software. If you don't, it's still going to track what you press.

So all it does is what the keylogger's name says: Logs what keys you press... Why is this damaging?

The keylogger keeps track of what keys you press and on what you press them.

Like for example:
You open crossfire and you type in your ID and PW, the keylogger will know what you typed to login on cf.
Same goes to other programs like google chrome(it also keep tracks of the website cause my friend got his fb hacked lol), steam, etc.

the launcher include's downloading options that some anti-virus may see as a 'keylogger' or w/e
then again, if it was a fucking keylogger the process has to be running 24/7 on your PC inorder to be usefull.. after you close the game you dont see launcher.exe in your process bar do you??
get your shit straight, go into C# make a big project with downloading / reading / writing All over a FTP connection, after that scan in -.-

Yes but having chrome.exe when you don't even have the browser open is fishy, even if I restart my comp and load it back up chrome.exe is still open.

Don't call us "idiots" when you have no brain of your own. It's called false-positives. But your anti-virus tells you the type of "virus" that's in the program. For example, Win32 is a false-positive, when you run hacks, because it modifies game and visual content (for wallhack) However, when your anti-virus says Backdoor.Ratenjay, that's not a fucking false-positive, it's a keylogger.

Also, this was the dumbest thing I've read in my life. The keylogger isn't part of the launcher, it is executed only on first time run. So when you run the launcher for the first time, it saves the file, and the file permanently becomes a startup item on your computer, so it's not like you have to manually run it every time. And also, it's coded so that it removes access from the user to modify the file, so that you can't delete it if it's found somehow.
