Java and JavaScript might seem like one was a direct descendant of the other, but in reality they are far from that. Java is an object oriented programming language that is capable of running on multiple operating systems with the use of an interpreter. It was created by Sun Microsystems with the objective of creating stand alone applications that works across platforms. JavaScript, on the other hand, was created by Netscape as a scripting language much like a client side version PHP. It cannot create stand alone applications, but instead resides on an internet browser. So there is a BIG difference between the two languages. The best place for your post would be: PHP/HTML - MPGH - MultiPlayer Game Hacking

That guy knows what he's talking about, which is nice to see around here once in a while. I've took two years of Java so I know he's right. You should do what he says. There is a reason Runescape is a browser game. It does not run out side of the browser. Now you can use Java to make servlets and things like that, but because Java is used for internet stuff so much it often gets confused with Javascript.
In fact if you right click this page this very moment and click view page source you will see an example of javascript![]()
