Best Processor?

Best Processor?
Intel?
AMD?
IBM?(if they're even still around.)
ETC?
My computer crashed it had Intel pentium 4 processor and IDK what happend. I gotta use my laptop. So which is the best brand of processor for a desktop??? I would think its AMD for a desktop because they use more power like a scavenger or something. But if there's a better one out there tell me pl0x.

Not really. Anything over 2.6 is unecessary for recreational gaming like you and I do. though, 3 ghz is preferred.
