I recently just got back into listening to a lot of old dubstep that I used to! You should throw up some links to your favorites
Is dubstep just a 2012 thing or do people still listen to it today?

Dubstep has pretty much crawled back into its niche hole, but it's still being made and listened to
Skrillex is still able to live off of his music even though he makes the most normie dubstep possible
Not sure if it fit with dubstep but I like this song
Ali Nadem Hardcore
nobody does now, 5 years ago yes
The only place where I would listen to dubstep is at a music festival or a club blasting it in my ears, due to the hype environnement, but I wouldn't stand listening to it all day. I wouldn't be listening to dubstep at home as well. It's mostly a mean of hyping up doped up kids at festivals.

Dubstep was definitely a 2012 thing, like you said. I used to love Dubstep in it's infancy, but now I don't have that same feeling towards it. Most likely grew out of it, however I still listen to some gems of mine from my old music folder. Somewhere people are still listening to Dubstep and probably in concerts too, I don't know where though.
I listened to it a couple years ago but im more into rap nowadays
