MyFitnessPal app is a game changer. I managed to shed 30lbs in a couple of months by making sure i calorie counted every meal.
Now im in a position where i know the majority of foods calorie amounts and dont feel the need to be so anal about weighing everything

You can also start slow, atleast START looking at the nutritional facts of the crap you buy, that nice corner store doughnut? oh yea 500 calories , that's 40min jogging
