My pc current has a ryzen 3 pro 3200g apu. It was a prebuilt that i got for free when my country was giving away money for computers to help with online class. Im planning to upgrade it with an actual gpu (1050 ti or 1060 5gb from taobao as theyre pretty reasonably priced in the current market). Im also going to upgrade the power supply from the really shitty and loud 450 watt unit.
Im thinking of keeping the current cpu in the system and upgrading it in a few months. Would the 1700x be an okay upgrade or should i look for a 2600 - 2700?
I have 16gb of 3200mhz ram in my system as well.

1700x is bad unless you live in some country where CPUs are like $800 for even a shitty APU. I would even much rather some i5 or i7 from around that time period if you are considering a 1700x, way better gaming performance
Go for the newer ryzen 5s. The 1700x is a workstation card.

To be honest the ryzen 5600x is the best bang for the buck cpu right now so try saving up 300e to get it.. otherwise just get a used 3600 for cheap
depends on your other hardware and what you're wanting to do with your pc but probably err on the side of old parts CAN still be used!
