    Dude my file is all edited.
    I have it as a DTX and when I try to inject it wont let me see DTX files in the browser help
    50 grand every week, fuckin' rat budget.

    Then i get an empty tga. file, is that a problem?!

    theres something left out ( for gimp users)
    if you got the error, when importing the TGA back into DEdit, saying somehting about " unable to open , make sure compression is 24bits - 36 bits etc. " something like that

    SOLUTION:
    when you edit your file in gimp , and are about to save it, choose the directory, and when you save it, a window pops up asking to use " RLE COMPRESSION " and the "ORIGIN"
    dont worry about the origin, but uncheck the RLE compression box,

    it compresses it to an unknown format to DEdit , then just import it back into DEdit

    Say no to make a new world and it always says it can't find object.lto to me,it will work without it because your not messing with objects,your coloring on Textures.

    Ok so I am making this tutorial because Why06 (poster of original tut) asked me to make one for the people who dont use photoshop so here it is.
    CREDITS TO BLACKANGEL FOR THE FOLLOWING TOOLS: DTXCONVERT,REZINJECT, AND REZEXTRACT. CREDITS TO WHY06 FOR THE PHOTOSHOP TUT.
    Download the following tools from the bottom:
    *DEdit
    *DTXConvert
    *rezinject
    *rezextract


    Okay so I am doing this my way without photoshop cuz it is too dam big lol takes up alot of unneccesary space on a computer. Use ur fav photo editer.

    First, open Rezextract and press FILE>Open to Extract and select the .rez file from ur Combat Arms\Game folder that u want to edit. Click Extract

    Now, open the folder that it just made in your Combat Arms Game folder named whatever the .rez was named. (e.g. if u extracted Chars_T_BODY.rez then there is now a folder named Chars_T_BODY in ur game folder)

    Now open DTXConvert and click FILE>Open Folder and select that folder. (e.g Chars_T_BODY) and click "CONVERT TO LITHTECH"

    Next Open DEdit and make a new project. (TIP: to make this easy make the project in a the same folder that you download from me.. so you can always find it so it will be easier on you later)Dont create new map, when it asks click no. Go move the .DTX files from ur folder to your DEdit project1\Textures folder. (e.g. mine is C:\DEdit\Project1\Textures, it is just where u decide to put ur project folder)

    Now close and reopen DEdit. Click File and at the bottom u should see the project u just made. Click it. Click the Textures Tab. Select the .DTX u want to edit and right click and select "export tga file".

    Now you can open a .tga file in paint.net or gimp or whatever and edit it. When u have made it look all pretty lol, you need to save it and open DEdit and go to your project. Then Click Textures tab and righ click down there and select import .tga files. Replace = yes.

    Now all you have to do is open DTXConvert, Click Open Folder, select the project\textures folder, and "convert to nexon".

    Finally open Rezinject and select the .rez file u extracted. Click "add" and select the .dtx u edited. click inject. Rename the new rez file to .rez because it will be .rezNEW more than likely. Put it in ur game folder and u are done.

    Any Questions Feel Free I know they are coming. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR NEW .REZ FILE IS NAMED THE SAME AS ITS ORIGINAL. ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF ORIGINAL.

    If any people have problems with the "Who06" tutorial, because you can't open the file on Photoshop, use this tutorial and do all the steps. And after you have converted the file to .tga, just use Photoshop to open and edit it.

    Injection error

    The injector apparently doesn't like my edited file... I used photoshop CS2, does it use RLE compression?

    EDIT: apparently it does: redoing with paint.net made rezinject happy. ingame testing now.

    EDIT 2: it worked.


    a small mod but.... we know CS2 will not be usable on this site, i guess. CS3 and up, or this method.

    i click import tga and i chose my file improved whit gimp and i click ok for remplace but it say make sur its 24 or 36 bits or something like that plz help
