it is a bit strange.no one gets banned without having used anything.
there are two possibilities:
1.someone hacked your account.
2.you used a hack and you were to stoned,drunken and now you cannot remember.

Listen, mate. I have been banned from MW2 for over a week now, and neither I used any hacks.

Tho' there are peeps that made a hack so that people can create dedicated servers, because this new COD doesn't originally have them. So, if you get randomly directed into a server like that (even if you didn't want to), VAC detects this as a hack after a week or so.

This is what happened to me, and so I realised that it sucks. Modern Warfare 2 for PC is shit, and money waste. I am happy now playing it on PS3, and got my nuke yesterday. Don't worry, just get it on another console or buy a new one. Steam and Valve do not talk about bans. They just tell you to buy a new one.

Only the game you cheated in. So if you get VAC banned from MW2, it only applies to MW2. You can still play the other games, granted you're not VAC banned from those too.

You got banned. End of story. Buy a new game if you want. Try mailing them. Waste you're time. Once you're banned, you're banned.

My friend also got banned the same way you did... Hh had never used cheats, and we know that because he norton security deleted all cheats he tried on he's computer. But he never started a cheat neither.
