whe i enter crossfire the xtrap box is loading then a error appears , its said

file changed )crossfire.exe . i dont have antivirus cuz i thing that was the problem bout that persist what i can do ...now i dont have antivirus installed

i copy the game from the computer of my brother i copi the file crossfir.exe and when the game is loading .. again appears that error (file is changed crossfire.exe) or HWGC.exe

4 . From Z8games

Go to ur program list and look for your z8 games folder, crossfire folder. inside the crossfire folder, look for the file version.ini. right click the file and open the properties tab. uncheck the read only button and click ok to apply. next, open the version.ini file. it should be in a note pad similar format. look for the file -latest version. change the number to 1054 and save the file. right click the version.ini file again and check back the read only button. You should be able to play now, this way saves so much more time than to download the game. Good luck! Cheers!!

Just a small addition that Evelyn might have forgotten:

Some viruses tend to replicate themselves to other executables, crossfire.exe being one of them (especially if you run it a lot). So first thing you need to do is get an AV and scan your whole PC thoroughly. Only then proceed to any attempts to "fix" it, since if you reinstall but still have the virus, it could just infect crossfire.exe again

Just get a free AV and scan your PC first, would you? MS SE and AVG are both epic and free

i was facing this proplem b4 and i reinstalled the game and it was perfect

this error happened to me when the new patch .. out!

i dont kwno i install win7 and it works perfect bout move slow what i do on that case¿?
