Lightbulb 4 [Quck] tips to speed up* Mincecraft :)

    TIP 1: Close all un-needed processes/programs obv.

I had 3 programs or processes i didn't need... but i still had them start up when the PC boots up because my family needs/wants it on; They were: Google Quick Start, Windows Sidebar and HP Adviser.

No one needed to have the Google quick start program, so i disabled it from starting up [I will cover this later]

So simply, I used Task manager [CTRL+ALT+DEL] to kill the processes, to stop them from using more RAM especially the Sidebar.

    TIP 2: Close your browser...

I only recently discovered this myself but this greatly helps on lag. I tried this first of all because I went on Task manager and Chrome was taking up ALOT of RAM. This will help with Firefox as it takes much, much more RAM than any other browser AFAIK.

TIP 3: Install Optimine and Optifog

[1.6.6] OptiFog and Optimine (FPS Boost) - Minecraft Forum

Optimine and Optifog do many things to increase the FPS of your game... Look on the thread/link above for more info/download...

TIP 4 Use a 'simple' texture pack

I tried this a couple of days ago, loads of people say it increases your FPS.
There are quite a few on the forum.. One i know of is called 'Simplecraft' but I personally use it
Another is 'Smoothcraft' which is in 1.1... So there are little changes...
The one i use and is the best IMHO is called SimpiciT.
It doesn't erase all details so you don't know what rock is which... but it is still simple... [giving you a FPS boost hopefully]
    [16x][1.6.6] --> SimpiciT <-- [Simple and Clean !!!] - Minecraft Forum

FROM EARLIER: *Bonus tip: How to disable programs from starting up...

Press the windows button + R or just manually find "Run..." and type in "msconfig" - without the ". Go to the startup tab and uncheck the programs you don't need. OK. Exit with/out restart.
    Enjoy

    NOTES:
    It may not be quick...
    *Depends on PC, results vary...
    **Speed up/FPS Boost
P.S More RAM and better GPU = Faster MC; Hence most/all the tips are about saving RAM

    Thanks for reading the tips...

    TL;DR

    Just read the underlined headings.

Press thanks if i helped with a FPS boost.
